
At the age if 23 Scott Acree found a true love with photography. He promptly enrolled with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to broaden his knowledge. Shortly after graduation he began photographing little leagues and various sports activities on a part-time basis. With this, he was beginning to build his reputation as a talented and dependable photographer. By 1990 his studio was a full time operation. In 1990 Scott and his wife Karen moved to Valencia, Pa. There they established a photography studio in their home. Scott was sole photographer and Karen was receptionist/salesperson. Together they built a fine portraiture studio that included family, children, graduating seniors, and wedding portraiture. During this time Scott and Karen both joined various professional photographic organizations too continue their education. By 1994 the business had grown considerably that a full-time employee was hired. In 1998 volume was too great to handle in the home. Scott and Karen opened a new studio in the Valencia area so to accommodate their clientele.
Within this time frame Scott and Karen became very active with the Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania. Within a few years Scott was asked to serve on the board of governors and within 6 months was asked to serve on the executive board. In the year 2001 Scott served as the President for the Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania. Scott became a Certified Professional Photographer in 1996. He will be receiving his Masters degree in photography within the next year or two. Throughout the years Scott entered many print competitions. He has won many awards which include best portrait of a women, group, pet and wedding couple. He also claimed a Fuji Gallery Award in 1998. Scott resides in Valencia with his wife Karen and his two daughters Kelly and Kyra.
